The
Obama White House has created a new website to combat a nationwide
crisis -- despite welfare spending growing to an all-time high, Obama is
concerned not enough people are getting government assistance.
The new government offensive comes after a poll showed only 15 percent of Americans turn first to the government when they're short on cash. 44 percent spent their savings, 21 percent from family members and 20 percent borrowed from their credit card.
Obama is concerned Americans are turning to their own money or their family first. Obama's new USA.gov looks to change that.
“Given that only 15 percent of you turn to government assistance in tough times, we want to make sure you know about benefits that could help you,” USA.gov announced Monday. The ”government made easy’ website has created a “help for difficult financial times” page for people to learn more about the programs.
