Stockman calls on Jackson to apologize for lying to reporters and voters

Stockman calls on Jackson to apologize for lying to reporters and voters
All statements about Jackson given full citation, in detail
'Independent source' touted to media by Jackson actually a neighbor and personal friend
“Mike Jackson likes his claims the same way he likes his immigrants – undocumented.”

WEBSTER, TEXAS - Congressman Steve Stockman called on State Senator Mike Jackson Sunday to apologize to the media for issuing a blatantly phony press release calling a recent Stockman mailing false, and for attacking the credibility of reputable organizations such as Texas Eagle Forum and The Wall Street Journal for reporting on bills he has voted for.

“Mike Jackson likes his claims the same way he likes his immigrants – undocumented,” said Stockman.

“He should apologize to the media for lying to reporters.  He’s lying to reporters and voters in a desperate attempt to hide from documented facts.”

Jackson’s release claims a recent mailing from Stockman contained “false” statements, but despite his repeated assertions Jackson refused to state what, if anything, was “false.”

Here are the claims the mailer made and the the documented facts backing it up:

•       Republicans are asking Mike Jackson to drop out of the race.  Brad Lewis, co-founder of the Southeast Texas Tea Party, has asked Jackson to drop out, citing his extensive liberal voting record.

•       Jackson earned a “Pro-Choice” rating from the National Abortion Rights Action League for his vote on SB 592 (2009,) which would allow some teens girls to access contraception without parental consent.

•       Jackson voted against an amendment to HB 2086 in 2009, which would have imposed tougher penalties on the crime of human trafficking, in which people are smuggled, usually young girls and women for the purposes of forced prostitution

•       Jackson voted for SB 2027, 2007, which creates a special Texas drivers’ license that Eagle Forum notes “gives U.S. ID to foreigners.”  Giving Mexican truckers Texas ID is part of the Trans-Texas Corridor scheme and creates great potential for voter fraud and document smuggling for terrorists.

•       Jackson voted for HB 1448 in 2009, a Democrat-led effort to allow voter registration without providing a Social Security Number, driver’s license or government-issued ID card.

•       Jackson is supported by Dr. Steven Hotze, who published a “voter guide” supporting Jackson and is known for his effort to stop Arizona’s popular anti-illegal alien laws from being passed in Texas

•       Jackson was photographed at an April campaign event in Harris County in which his campaign distributed taxpayer-financed official State documents at his campaign table, which is not allowed, and for using his official taxpayer-financed office for campaign photographs.   Jackson has previously been fined by the Texas Ethics Commission in 2008 for converting political funds for his own personal use.

•       Jackson accepted a $1,000.00 contribution from BNSF PAC, a railroad owned by Obama campaign bankroller Warren Buffett, who is not only leading the fight for Obama’s tax hikes but stands to profit if the     Keystone XL pipeline is killed.

•       Jackson supported for HB 3 in 2005, which created what The Wall Street Journal correctly pointed out is a state income tax in violation of the Texas Constitution.  The Harris County Republican Party issued an official resolution denouncing the Legislature’s vote.

Jackson also told the media a “well-known conservative blogger David Jennings” gave Stockman’s mailer “an independent review.”  What  Jackson did not tell reporters is Jennings is a personal friend who lives two streets over from him.

“Everything about Mike is documented in detail.  Mike Jackson is a liberal and has the documented pro-choice, pro-tax hike, pro-illegal alien votes to prove it,” said Stockman.  “Everything we published about Mike Jackson came from his documented voting record.  His record is so shameful and liberal, his only response to its being published is to throw a tantrum.  Mike Jackson should apologize to the media for lying to reporters and he should also apologize to Texans for voting like a liberal on abortion, taxes and immigration.”

Mike Jackson, Houston Chronicle gang up to call Eagle Forum, Wall Street Journal 'liars'

In a new robocall and ads going out to voters, liberal State Sen. Mike Jackson runs screaming from his liberal voting record.

His friends in the mainstream media, namely the same Houston Chronicle that endorsed him and Barack Obama, have launched an offensive against Congressman Steve Stockman and Texas conservatives, calling them ‘liars’ for printing his own voting record.

Here are the facts.  The documented facts.  And this is just a few of his liberal votes from only the last three sessions.

Help Congressman Steve Stockman Audit The Fed!

Dear Patriot,

Will you help me tear the mask off the secretive Federal Reserve?
      I’m Congressman Steve Stockman.
I’m a former member of the House Banking Committee.
I am a constitutional conservative warrior.
And this is your chance to help me bring transparency to the out-of-control Federal Reserve.

You see, your savings, retirement and family budget are in danger.
The Federal Reserve, a secretive organization, manipulates our national money supply with no oversight or transparency.

If you’re not angry about that, you should be.

By simply inventing money out of thin air they spawn out-of-control inflation.
That devalues family paychecks and drives businesses into bankruptcy – driving up demand for government entitlements.

      The damage is real.
Since it was spawned in 1913, the Fed’s iron grip over money and credit has devalued every dollar in your paycheck by a crushing 95 percent.
And government tells us we have no right to know exactly how or why the Federal Reserve establishes the value of our money
Unlike virtually every federal agency, the General Accounting Office is not allowed to look at their books and see where they are cooking up numbers.
In fact, no one is allowed to.
That’s why Ron Paul, Michele Bachmann and other conservative leaders are supporting H.R. 1207, “The Federal Reserve Transparency Act,” known as “Audit The Fed.”
Audit The Fed would hand the Fed’s books over to the Government Accounting Office.

But we will need to introduce it again in the next Congress.

That is why I am seeking a return to Congress.

But my election is just days away and supporters of the Fed are ganging up on me.

I need you go to here right now to chip in $10 or more to help me defeat Fed defenders and push Audit The Fed.

There is no time to waste.  Please respond right now.

Please send whatever you feel you can afford.
Not only is Audit The Fed common sense, it may be the only way to stop the out-of-control Fed from devaluing our dollar and causing further economic crisis.
If you or I operated like the Fed, and refused to report where our money came from, we’d be locked up.
Barack Obama is already abusing power to fire CEO whose business practices he doesn’t approve of.
But the Fed gets to conjure up $1 trillion out of thin air, causing painful inflation, and no one has a right to even look at their books?
      We can fight back.
We can pass Audit The Fed.
That’s why I need you to go here right now to chip in $10 or more.
We can pass Audit The Fed, but only if we elect fearless constitutional conservatives.
That’s why, as a former member of the House Banking Committee, I am seeking to return to Washington.  We must tear the mask off the Fed!
      Time is running out.
Please act fast to tear the mask off the Federal Reserve and expose those who are devaluing our money and threatening our economy.
Please go here to chip in $10 or more today.

      In Liberty,
      Congressman Steve Stockman
      Constitutional Conservative
P.S.    The Federal Reserve’s unchecked power to create money out of thin air has devalued your dollar by 95 percent.  Now it’s threatening our entire economic system – and no one has the right to even inspect their books.
That’s why, as a former member of the House Banking Committee, I am seeking to return to Washington.  We must tear the mask off the Fed!

My election is just days away and allies of the Fed are ganging up on me.  Go there to chip in $10 or more to help me hold the Fed accountable.

Ted Nugent rocks the vote for Congressman Steve Stockman

Second Amendment advocate and rock legend Ted Nugent voiced his support for conservative Republican Congressman Steve Stockman’s re-election to Congress.

“Hey patriots.  This is Ted Nugent celebrating the Second Amendment and freedom and the American, Texas way every day of my life.  Congressman Steve Stockman is an upgrade that America needs desperately.  Texas should lead the way with my buddy Congressman Stockman,” the always-entertaining Nugent said, imploring his fellow Texans to support Stockman.

Tired of high taxes and seeking freedom, Nugent moved from Michigan to his ranch in China Spring, Texas.

“Ted’s certainly more colorful than I am, but I’m proud to have Ted Nugent’s support,” said Stockman. “I’m the only proven conservative and the most conservative congressman in Texas.  I’ll do to the Obama agenda what Ted does to a whitetail – I’ll drop it where it stands and then gut it.”

Nugent also promoted a Right to Keep and Bear Arms BBQ in Bridge City for Congressman Stockman that turned out a steady crowd to enjoy good food and conservative principles.

Congressman Stockman is the only candidate for Congress in the 36th District endorsed by pro-gun
groups, endorsed by Gun Owners of America.  The 36th District covers all of Chambers, Liberty, Hardin, Orange, Newton, Jasper, Tyler and Polk County, and the southeastern portion of Harris County including Baytown, Pasadena and the Johnson Space Center.

Congressman Steve Stockman endorsed for re-election by border control advocate Congressman Tom Tancredo

WEBSTER – Border control advocate and former Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo has enthusiastically endorsed Congressman Steve Stockman’s bid to return to Capitol Hill.

“On the important issues of immigration lowering taxes, returning to constitutional spending levels, maintaining a strong national defense, restoring the right to keep and bear arms and ending abortion, Congressman Stockman is the only proven conservative in the race,” said Tancredo.

“On May 29th, conservative Republicans are voting to return Congressman Steve Stockman to Congress. I urge you to join them,” said Tancredo.

Stockman and Tancredo share similar views on the importance of effective border-control.

“The GOP establishment feels that a push for effective border-control might hurt us with the fast-growing Hispanic vote,” says Steve. “But who gets hurt the most when out-of-control illegal immigration from all over the world keeps American hourly wages artificially low? Our hard-working Spanish-speaking families, that’s who. They’re ambitious and want to improve their situation economically. Why should they always have to compete with illegal newcomers who will continually undercut their hard-earned wages?”

Stockman is running for election to Congress in the May 29th Republican primary for the brand-new 36th Congressional District. Congressman Stockman previously much of the new district, including fast-growing Chambers County and the NASA area.

In addition to Tancredo, Stockman’s growing list of such endorsers includes gun owners, right-to-life groups and other conservative organizations.

The 36th District covers all of Polk, Tyler, Jasper Newton, Liberty, Hardin, Orange and Chambers Counties, along with southeast Harris County including Baytown, the Port of Houston and the Johnson Space Center.

Congressman Steve Stockman targeted by gun grabbers!

A little over fifteen years ago, as a United States Congressman, I was the gun-grabbers’ most hated man in America.
Today, it looks like nothing has changed.

You see, I’m running to return to Congress in Texas’ newly-created 36th District. And the gun control crowd is once again going all-out to defeat me — just like they did when I was Handgun Control, Inc.’s number-one national target for defeat in 1996.

That’s why I’m counting on the help of Second Amendment supporters just like  you from all over the country to take on the gun-grabbers and get back to Washington, D.C.

I  am getting a boost from Alan Gottlieb of the Second Amendment Foundation, NRA Board Member Ted Nugent, Dudley Brown of the National Association for Gun Rights and Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America – the three  of them personally endorse me – but…

…without your help, I’ll be a sitting duck.

But I can promise you, if I’m elected, I’ll pick up exactly where I left off — being anti-gun activist Sarah Brady’s biggest problem in Congress.

The fact is, shortly after being sworn into Congress, I established myself not just as a solid pro-gun vote, but as a national pro-gun hero, introducing legislation to;

***       REPEAL the unconstitutional Brady Bill, which sets up the entire federal infrastructure necessary for full-scale national gun registration;

***      PROTECT gun dealers from anti-gun BATFE militants seeking to use even the most minor paperwork errors as an excuse to SHUT DOWN law-abiding gun store owners;

***      REPEAL Bill Clinton’s so-called “Assault Weapons” Ban, which banned an entire class of firearms based upon little more than looking “scary.”

And when leaders of my own Republican Party REFUSED to take action on my bill to repeal the Clinton Ban, I didn’t take no for an answer.

Instead, I introduced legislation to FORCE the Assault Weapons Ban Repeal Bill out of committee and onto the House floor for a vote.

Those actions and others earned me one of the few A+ ratings Gun Owners of America handed out that Congress.

I’m proud of that rating. I’m proud to say my past races been endorsed by Gun Owners of America and the National Rifle Association, as well.

And I’m proud to say there’s not another Congressional candidate in the country that gets under the gun-grabbers’ skin more than I do.

You see, I don’t believe in backing down when it comes to our gun rights. I believe in taking the FIGHT straight to the gun-grabbers.
Sadly, many politicians love to talk a good game on the campaign trail, but then refuse to lift a finger for our Second Amendment rights once elected.
Sometimes I think they care more about getting a nice article written about them in the New York Times than in taking their oaths of office seriously!

They don’t understand — whether its last year’s Arizona tragedy or the more recent incident in Florida — the national media has one rule they always abide by:

Ignore the facts and blame the guns.

To them, the culprits are never the real criminals. They’re law-abiding gun owners. They’re conservatives.

But when President Obama’s administration has the sheer AUDACITY to illegally funnel thousands of rifles to bloodthirsty drug-running Mexican gangs — just to drum up an “excuse” to crack down on law-abiding American gun owners — he gets
a pass!

Where was the media’s outrage when Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was killed by these Mexican gangs — with a gun BATFE agents virtually placed in their hands?

Do you ever click on the evening news, and wish that just once a pro-gun, pro-Constitution conservative would put anti-gun media pundits in their place?

Do you wish there was a Member of Congress you could count on — not only to vote right EVERY TIME — but also LEAD the fight for restoring our gun rights?

Well, I’m running to represent the good people of Texas – and Second  Amendment supporters all over the country.

If elected to Congress, you can count on me to;

>>>  Reintroduce legislation repealing the Brady Bill, and stand up to members of my own party to force a vote if necessary;

>>> Cut funding for and crack down on the out-of-control BATFE. Our nation is over $15.6 TRILLION in debt. Frankly, I can think of few better places to start cutting spending than the BATFE;

>>> Fight the United Nations’ so-called “Small Arms Treaty,” which is nothing more than a gun control scheme designed to register, ban and confiscate firearms on an international scale;

>>> Defeat any attempt to pass a new so-called “Assault Weapons” Ban and other gun control schemes like higher taxes on ammo or outright bans, “one-gun-a-month” or efforts by the Attorney General Eric Holder to create a national “Cannot Buy” Registry.

So won’t you agree to a generous contribution to my campaign to help me take the fight for our Second Amendment rights to Congress?

As I mentioned, the anti-gun crowd is going all-out to defeat me.

With Texas’ Primary rapidly approaching, I expect the gun-grabbers to empty their pockets to try to sink my campaign.

They don’t care which one of my Republican opponents wins — just so long as it isn’t me.

For the gun-grabbers, this is personal.

They hate the fact I’ve never been afraid to call them out as political opportunists who seek to “cash in” on tragedy to further their outrageous agenda.

So I’m depending on the support of good folks like you to defeat the gun-grabbers and get back to Congress.

Could you go here to chip in $10, $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $100 or even $2500?

Of course, the maximum under federal law is $2,500 or $5,000 per  couple. If you could afford that much, I’d be extremely grateful.

But all I ask is that you please agree to the most generous contribution you can possibly afford.

I’m counting on your help to get back to Congress and continue the fight for the millions of gun owners all across this great nation.

So please go here rush me your most generous contribution of $10 or more TODAY.

Steve Stockman
Republican for Congress

P.S.   The gun-grabbers know if I’m sent back to Congress, I’ll continue where I left off — being anti-gun activist Sarah Brady’s biggest problem.

They’re going all-out to make sure ANYONE but me gets elected to Congress in Texas’ newly-created 36th district.

I’m depending on Second Amendment supporters just like you from all over the country to help me fight back. So please go here to chip in and rush me your most generous contribution of $10 or more IMMEDIATELY!

Dr. James Dobson and Congressman Steve Stockman
     Dear conservative patriot,
The Obama regime is out to stop me.
      I’m Congressman Steve Stockman.

I’m the most conservative Congressman in Texas.

And I’m the only proven conservative in the race.

I have a perfect A+ lifetime rating from the NRA.

I have a perfect 100% lifetime rating from the National Right to Life Committee.

I have a perfect 100% record on enforcing our borders and I’m endorsed by Congressman Tom Tancredo.

And I need a strong early vote turnout to show Obama that Texas rejects his left-wing assaults on our freedoms.

Your early vote, starting tomorrow morning, could help me send Obama’s crony packing.
He’s part of Barack Obama’s scheme to save Obamacare by running radical socialist Democrats against staunch conservatives who oppose him, in hopes of eliminating dissenters in Congress.
I need you to stop Obama’s assault on our REPUBLICAN Congressional seat.
Don’t let it fall to the Democrats.  I need your early vote to return to Washington and lead the fight to stop Obama.
      Polls open tomorrow, Monday morning.

P.S.  I’m proud to have a PERFECT 100% LIFETIME rating from pro-gun, pro-life and pro-border control groups in Congress.
But the Obama regime has recruited an ultra-liberal “Occupy” candidate against me.  We need a HUGE early vote turnout to show Obama we won’t accept his candidate.

Game Change: Sarah Palin endorses Ted Cruz

Just four days before the start of early voting in the Texas Senate primary, the Ted Cruz campaign announced the endorsement of Governor Sarah Palin and her husband Todd Palin.

In response to a letter from Ted Cruz, Governor Sarah Palin wrote: “We’re proud to join conservatives in Texas and throughout the nation in supporting your campaign to become the next Senator from the Lone Star State.”

“Your conservative principles, passionate defense of our Constitution and our free market system come at a time when these cornerstones of our freedom and prosperity are under attack,” Governor Palin added. “Our shared goal isn’t just to change the majority in control of the Senate, but to assure principled conservatives like you are there to fight for us.”

Ted Cruz responded, “Governor Palin has been an inspiration to conservatives across Texas and across the Nation. She is principled and passionate and never afraid to speak truth to establishment power. I am humbled and honored to have Governor Palin’s support as we fight to restore fiscal sanity to the circus that is Washington. With Governor Palin’s support, and the support of tens of thousands of conservatives from all across Texas, we will turn our country around, rein in out-of-control spending and debt in Washington, and restore the Constitution.”

To date, the Cruz campaign has received donations from over 19,000 individuals, from over 843 Texas cities, 225 Texas counties, and all 50 States. The average donation is under $200.

In addition, the campaign has earned endorsements from many of the top conservative leaders in Texas and nationally, including: Tea Party Express, Senator Jim DeMint, Senator Rand Paul, Dr. James Dobson, Cathie Adams, George P. Bush, Gun Owners of America, Family Research Council Action PAC, FreedomWorks, Texas Home School Coalition PAC, Kelly Shackelford, David Barton, Peggy Venable, Young Conservatives of Texas, over 200 Texas Republican women leaders, and many more.

Christian facing execution in Iran speaks publicly for the first time in nearly a year

Christian pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, who is in an Iranian prison facing a death for preaching Christianity, has written this open letter to the world.

May 7, 2012

Greetings from your servant and younger brother in Christ, Youcef Nadarkhani.

To: All those who are concerned and worried about my current situation.

First, I would like to inform all of my beloved brothers and sisters that I am in perfect health in the flesh and spirit. And I try to have a little different approach from others to these days, and consider it as the day of exam and trial of my faith. And in these days which are hard in order to prove your loyalty and sincerity to God, I am trying to do the best in my power to stay right with what I have learned from God's commandments.

I need to remind my beloveds, though my trial due has been so long, and as in the flesh I wish these days to end, yet I have surrendered myself to God's will.

I am neither a political person nor do I know about political complicity, but I know that while there are many things in common between different cultures, there are also differences between these cultures around the world which can result in criticism, which most of the times response to this criticisms will be harsh and as a result will lengthen our problems.

From time to time I am informed about the news which is spreading in the media about my current situation, for instance being supported by various churches and famous politicians who have asked for my release, or campaigns and human rights activities which are going on against the charges which are applied to me. I do believe that these kind of activities can be very helpful in order to reach freedom, and respecting the human rights in a right way can bring forth great results in this.

I want to appreciate all those are trying to reach to this goal. But at the other hand, I'd like to announce my disgust at insulting words or activities which make stress and trouble, which unfortunately are done with the justification (excuse) of defending human rights and freedom, for the final result is so clear and obvious for me. Insulting the belief of other nations or people, whether they be a majority or minority, is not accepted and is an unworthy deed, specifically for those who have this teaching to love and respect others more than themselves and treat them the same as you want to be treated.

Then, burning and insulting is not a reverent behavior for a Christian, but it's worthy to be in obedience to the word of God and humble ourselves to glorify God.

I try to be humble and obedient to those who are in power, obedience to those in authority which God has granted to the officials of my country, and pray for them to rule the country according to the will of God and be successful in doing this. For I know this in this way I have obeyed God's word. I try to obey along with those whom I see in a common situation with me. They never had any complaint, but just let the power of God be manifested in their lives, and though sometimes we read that they have used this right to defend themselves, for they had this right, I am not an exception as well and have used all possibilities and so forth and am waiting for the final result.

So I ask all the beloved ones to pray for me as the holy word has said. At the end I hope this be prepared as soon as possible, as the authorities of my country will do with free will according to their law and commandments which are answerable to.

May God's Grace and Mercy be upon you now and forever. Amen.

Youcef Nadarkhani

Five tactics your campaign can’t afford to ignore

Newspaper ads, billboards and campaigning on the Internet may be cute, but they don’t win elections.

You have to make direct personal contact, either in person, on the phone or through the mail, with enough individual votes to collect the number of votes you need to win.
Campaigns and Elections reminds you of five essential campaign operations you can’t ignore.
General rule of thumb: Make sure you have the volunteers and resources to knock on the door of every likely voter before you ever do anything else.  It’s the most effective form of campaigning and it’s virtually free.

1. Phone Banks. The use of phones on a campaign is becoming a lost art. Some campaigns believe that texting and mobile apps can replace the old-fashioned volunteer phone call. That’s not the case. Several campaigns that enjoyed the national spotlight last cycle didn’t operate phone banks at all—and they lost handily to opponents who spent less money but made more phone calls.
The campaign phone bank should be the heart of the voter identification, persuasion and turnout program. The phone bank will help the campaign target its manpower, direct mail and even television and radio buys. A well-organized phone program can win elections, as it allows the campaign to reach thousands of voters each week, track their choice in the election, and then encourage supporters to go vote on Election Day. These are things that email, text messages and mobile applications cannot achieve effectively.

2. Door-to-door operations. The use of an integrated door-to-door operation has followed the phone banks into obscurity in the campaigns of many first-time candidates. The American campaign style is strongly rooted in retail politics, and nothing is more retail than meeting voters at their door. Most campaigns can reach approximately 40-60 percent of their voters via phone, and significantly less online. This makes knocking on doors the most effective voter contact tactic in a campaign’s arsenal.
An effective door-to-door program should be incorporated into the phone program. The phone bank will identify clusters of undecided or unidentified voters for volunteers to visit. Delivering a message in-person significantly enhances a volunteer’s persuasiveness.

3. Early voting/absentee voting programs. Few campaigns get this right, because executing an effective early voting or absentee voting program is difficult to engineer and track. Republicans and Democrats, however, have both notched surprising wins in the past decade that were only possible by running strong early vote and/or absentee voting programs. Many campaigns simply ignore this tactic because it requires a long-term investment of manpower and money. But these programs can be worth up to 2-to-4 points in a tight race—more than enough to win.

4. Get-Out-The-Vote pushes. The election isn’t won until a campaign gets enough of its voters into the polling station. Each cycle, more than a dozen campaigns come up short on Election Day not because they lost the message war, but because they didn’t execute a solid GOTV program.
Effective GOTV programs can involve direct mail, phone calls, emails, texts and even door-to-door. That said, some modern campaigns fail to recognize that emails, texts, and even direct mail do not have the effect that calls and personal visits have when conducting GOTV operations—particularly on Election Day.

5. Planning. With modern campaigns facing so many communication and strategic options, many choose to skip the planning process altogether. These same campaigns often fail to make it over the finish line. Most reliable consultants and long-time operatives will tell you that winning campaigns means being proactive, not reactive. Unfortunately, it’s impossible for a campaign to be anything but reactive if it doesn’t have a plan. Planning doesn’t necessarily mean writing and following a 300-page campaign strategy memo. It does, however, mean thinking through the options, scenarios and environmental conditions of your specific race. That alone can help a campaign devise a superior strategy that will carry it to victory on Election Day.

Family escapes home set ablaze by their electric car

A Houston-area family escaped harm when their house suddenly went up in flames, and fire investigators say an electric car is to blame.

Jeremy Gutierrez pulled his Fisker Karma electric vehicle into his garage, parked it, and went inside.  Three minutes later his garage, and home, were consumed in fire.

Gutierrez, his wife, his mother and a child escaped without injuries not, but his home suffered $100,000.00 in damage.

His child's bedroom burned in the fire.

“The Karma was the origin of the fire," said Fort Bend County chief fire investigator Robert Baker.

The Karma was a post-recall model.  It was only a few days old and had just 200 miles.  Gutierrez reports just before the fire began he could smell burning rubber.

Fisker, as you may recall, was given a $529 million taxpayer-financed loan by the Obama administration.  Obama has hailed Fisker as an example of his successful U.S. economic policies.

However, Fisker builds its vehicles in Finland, not the United States.  So far Fisker has sold poorly, was forced to recall vehicles and had its cars break down during Consumer Reports testing.

Fisker refuses to accept the findings of the fire investigator that their admittedly faulty vehicles were the cause of yet another electric car fire.  What's downright stunning is their implication Gutierrez used fireworks to burn his child's bedroom with his family in the home, claiming "fraud or malicious intent" may be to blame.

An upset Gutierrez released the following statement:
On the afternoon of May 2, 2012, Mr. Jeremy Gutierrez’s brand new Fisker Karma hybrid electric vehicle caught fire while parked in his garage, setting fire to his home while his wife, mother, and child were inside. Thanks to the fast action of Mr. Gutierrez, he was able to evacuate his family from the home moments before portions of the house were engulfed in flames, including his child’s bedroom.
The Fort Bend County Fire Department immediately responded to the scene and as able to contain and extinguish the fire before total destruction of the Gutierrez’s family home. The fire department recently completed their investigation and determined the origin of the fire was, in fact, Gutierrez’s newly purchased Fisker Karma hybrid electric vehicle that he just took possession of two weeks earlier. Chief Investigator for the Fort Bend County Fire Marshal’s Office Robert N. Baker has concluded that the fire was accidental in nature.
Since the date of this incident, Mr. Gutierrez has been fully cooperative with public safety officials, as well as insurance adjusters and the vehicle manufacturer’s investigators. In fact, Mr. Gutierrez fully accommodated the precise and somewhat peculiar demands of Fisker Automotive, who sent their self-proclaimed “SWAT Team” of engineers and inspectors (that included their own forensic cause and origin investigator) to the Gutierrez home within 24 hours of the fire. They descended upon the Gutierrez home in alarming numbers and immediately demanded a 24-hour lock-down of his home, including the remains of the Fisker Karma vehicle. They also cordoned off portions of the Gutierrez home with non-transparent tarps to block the view from the public. Fisker even had access to eyewitnesses, who were interviewed by Fisker investigators and those investigators were shown video footage of the Fisker vehicle on fire before and other part of the garage. Mr. Gutierrez accommodated every request with the hope of have a full, fair and open inquiry into the cause of the Fisker vehicle fire that set his house ablaze and endangered his family.
Despite the fact public safety and law enforcement officials have determined Mr. Gutierrez’s home and vehicles are not a crime scene, Fisker Automotive released a public statement on May 8, 2012 implying fraud or malicious intent were open questions. The family is stunned by this implication. The Gutierrez family has afforded every accommodation to Fisker and access to all evidence that public safety and law enforcement official examined. Fisker’s statement is a grave disappointment, especially in light of the damages the family suffered and continues to suffer.
The Gutierrez family has suffered enough. They are temporarily displaced from their home, and have lost three vehicles. They value their privacy and wish to have this investigation completed immediately so they can return to their home.

Video: Rand Paul argues against reauthorizing Export-Import Bank

WASHINGTON - Sen. Rand Paul took to the Senate floor Thursday to oppose the reauthorization of the Export-Import Bank.

The ordinary middle-class family is struggling to get a home loan. Tens of thousands of homeowners have lost their homes or are struggling to make payments on their home loans. Meanwhile, Congress steadily dishes out billions of dollars in taxpayer-subsidized loans to large, profitable companies. Eighty percent of these loans, these Export-Import loans, are given to companies that are in the Fortune 500. So we're giving taxpayer loans to very profitable companies.

I'm a great believer in capitalism, in the jobs that corporations create. I defend profit and the benefit that accrues from leaving that profit large any in the private sector. I'm not one who clamors for punitive taxes, I'm not someone who thinks we need to punish corporations, but at the same time don't construe that to mean that I believe we should be subsidizing profitable corporations.

I don't think taxpayer-subsidized loans should go to profitable companies. Now, President Obama has been passing out loans to his campaign donors. He's been using a campaign trough that he has set up over at the Department of Energy.

Very wealthy multimillionaires and billionaires are getting loans through the Department of Energy; Solyndra, Brightsource, people heavily involved in the President's campaign have been getting subsidized loans. Republicans have been rightly criticizing the President for these loans, for these Department of Energy loans; to Solyndra, Brightsource and others.

Republicans have been correct in criticizing the President for trying to pick the winners and losers in the energy production. Yet now a majority of the Republicans are poised to vote for their own set of taxpayer-subsidized loans through the Export-Import bank.

In fact, they want to increase the Export-Import loans by nearly 50 percent and pick the winners and losers now in the export business. The horse traders may disdain consistency, but the American people value principled and consistent opposition to deficit financing.

The American people know hypocrisy when they see it. The American people know corporate welfare when they see it. The Export-Import bank in fact provided an $18 million to a steel mill in China. Our steel industry has been in decline for decades, and I would loan $18 million to our competitors?

Who in their right mind would subsidize our Chinese competitors with loans? It makes no sense. Can you think of anything more insulting than loaning money to our competitors? Well, come to think of it, I might. We actually give foreign aid to china. We actually send china economic development assistance. Is it any wonder that Congress has an 11 percent approval rating?

Many Americans are trying to hang on to their homes, struggling to make their payments on their own home mortgage, while very profitable big business is being given subsidized loans by the government. It makes no sense. What gives?

To add insult to injury, we are borrowing money from the same countries that we are lending the money to. So we borrow money from India, because I would run a deficit of the over $1 trillion a year, we borrow known from India and then we're sending it back to them in the form of taxpayer-subsidized loans. It makes no sense.

Ex-Im loans like the loans to Solyndra and Brightsource are simply forms of crony capitalism. With trillion-dollar annual deficits, surely we can vote to end corporate welfare. If companies are making billions of dollars in profit, can we at least end the welfare that we're sending to these corporations?

I urge a vote against reauthorizing the Ex-Im bank, and I hope my Republican colleagues will see the inconsistency of criticizing the President on one hand for his capitalism and then turning around and doing the same thing.

So I support not reauthorizing the Export-Import bank, admitting it is corporate welfare and trying to save the taxpayers some of their hard-earned money.

Minnesota threatens to imprison moms for giving away fresh milk

Several Minnesota mothers who organize community access to local fresh farm foods plan to risk criminal charges by openly and publicly defying warnings from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA).  The MDA has threatened several mothers, conducted investigations against them and sent them warning letters that if they continue helping provide fresh food to their friends and neighbors, they will be subject to criminal charges and prosecution.  The MDA alleges the Mothers are violating food-handling regulations.

Dozens of individuals who are disgusted with what they regard as MDA’s overly aggressive tactics are expected to join in the same activity as these mothers.

“It is absolutely outrageous that during this time of economic crisis our state government is investigating and sending warning letters to mothers and putting farmers on trial who are helping provide communities with fresh foods.  It is my right to contract privately with a farmer for the food of my choice just as it is the right of every American,” says Melinda Olson a mother and recipient of one of the MDA’s letters.

“The MDA’s harassment against mothers will not work.  We plan to ignore this warning and continue operating as we are.  MDA should not waste taxpayer money investigating, prosecuting and jailing peaceful farmers and mothers for helping their communities secure fresh foods.  Our time to stand up against this tyranny is now!”

In addition to the threatening letters the MDA sent the mothers, MDA has brought charges against two local farmers for supplying their communities with fresh foods.  Mothers who rely on the food and delivery service of one of these farmers, Alvin Schlangen, are facing loss of their food supply if Schlangen is jailed on four misdemeanor charges for providing food to his community.  The charges against Schlangen stem from alleged handling of food without a permit, mislabeling food, and handling unprocessed, fresh milk, which is a crime according to the MDA.

Customers and supporters from around the state and country have planned a rally for Schlangen on the first day of his criminal trial on Monday, May 14 at 7:00 a.m. outside the Minneapolis courthouse.  At the rally supporters will sign a “Declaration of Food Independence” and demonstrate non-compliance against what they deem “unjust” regulations.  The rally is expected to draw hundreds.

Cap and Taxer Lugar loses re-election, blames his support for environmentalism

A thirty-six year incumbent United States Senator suffers a historic, lopsided primary loss, and he’s blaming his support of the radical environmentalist agenda.

Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.,) who voted for cap and tax proposals in 2003 and 2005 and demands employers emit less carbon dioxide, was defeated by a 60% to 40% margin by State Treasurer Richard Mourdock.

“Lugar is among a dwindling number of GOP lawmakers who has spoken about the need to curb greenhouse gas emissions. Mourdock, in contrast, has slammed what he calls ‘junk science associated with global climate change alarmism,’” The Hill reports.

“On climate legislation, Lugar was among the minority of Republicans that voted for failed cap-and-trade proposals in 2003 and 2005 sponsored by Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.)”

Obama: American military fights 'on my behalf'

In an interview with ABC News, Barack Obama framed his support for gay marriage as a way of supporting American soldiers who, he claims, are fighting on his behalf.

"When I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don't Ask Don't Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married," Obama tells ABC News.

Thanks to Obama, number of women not working reaches record high

The Bureau of Labor Statistics finds 324,000 women left the nation’s civilian labor force in just eight weeks over March and April, and the number of women not in the labor force hit an all-time high of 53,321,000.

"This year (in both January and April), only 57.6 percent of the women in the civilian noninstitutional population were in the labor force. That is the lowest rate of labor force participation by American women since April 1993, according to historical data maintained by BLS," CNS News reports.

"For both males and females combined, the rate of participation in the labor force dropped to 63.6 percent in April—the lowest rate since December 1981.

"Recently, however, women have been leaving the labor force in larger numbers than men."

No wonder Julia needs cradle-to-grave government support.  Obama won't let her out of the house to work.

Imagine 50 Keith Judds. Make Obama hurt.

   Dear friend,

Obama told coal employers if elected he would "bankrupt" them.

Last night coal workers responded, by handing 41% of the West Virginia Democrat primary vote to Keith Judd, who defeated the sitting President of the United States in 10 counties.
   Who is Keith Judd?

He's Inmate #11593-051 and currently resides in a federal prison in Texas.

That's right, 41% of DEMOCRATS voted for an incarcerated felon instead of their own president, because of Obama's radical environmental agenda.

In fact, when you count the tens of thousands of Democrats who cast ballots, but refused to vote for president, Barack Obama only got 52% of the DEMOCRAT vote in West Virginia.
   That's an embarrassing rejection.

And it's putting tremendous pressure on Obama to drop his radical environmentalist agenda to avoid losing West Virginia in November.

Now, imagine that pressure being applied to Obama in all 50 states (or 57, according to him.)

Only American Tradition Partnership can make that happen.

Go here right now to chip in $500, $250, $100, $50, $25 or just $10 to help American Tradition Partnership run hard-hitting ads exposing Obama's job-killing agenda in key battleground states.

Even just $10 would be greatly appreciate and put to use holding Obama accountable in the states where it hurts him most.

Together we can put a stop to his advocacy of radical environmentalism.
    Donald Ferguson
    Executive Director
    American Tradition Partnership

P.S.  When Obama's radical environmental agenda is the issue, even his own party rejects him.  41% of West Virginia DEMOCRATS voted for an incarcerated felon in Texas over Barack Obama after Obama vowed to bankrupt coal.  Obama only got 52% of the Democrat vote.

I need you to go here right now to chip in $10 or more to help American Tradition Partnership run hard-hitting ads exposing Obama's job-killing agenda in key battleground states.

Confidence in Obama economy falls to three year low

Confidence the U.S. economy will be stronger five years from now has plunged to the lowest level in three years of tracking, Rasmussen Reports finds.

Only forty-four percent (44%) of adults say the economy will be stronger five years from now. Twenty-two percent (22%) say the economy will be weaker, while nine percent (9%) say it will be about the same.  A stunning 25% are not sure. (Poll wording here.)

Additionally, consumer confidence in the Obama economy plummeted five points after last Friday's April jobs report found 300,000 Americans left the labor force last month.

Ron Paul chairs House committee hearing on abolishing the Fed

The Financial Services Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology, chaired by Rep. Ron Paul, held hearing Tuesday to examine six legislative proposals that either reform or abolish the Federal Reserve System.

More and more people are beginning to understand just how destructive the Federal Reserve's monetary policy has been.  I hope that this hearing will kick start a serious discussion on the need to rein in the Fed,” said Chairman Paul.  “100 years is far too long for Congress to have taken a hands-off approach.  The Fed continues to reward Wall Street banks while destroying the dollar’s purchasing power and driving up the cost of living for average Americans.  This reckless behavior must come to an end.”

Calls for reforming various aspects of the Federal Reserve System have existed since its creation in 1913.  However, with the onset of the financial crisis of 2008-2009 and during the prolonged recession, calls for reform have escalated.

The Federal Reserve responded to the financial crisis with unconventional monetary easing, leading some to claim the Federal Reserve attempted to do too much to stimulate economic growth and set the stage for sustained inflation when the economy recovers.  Slow economic growth, however, has led others to argue the Federal Reserve has not done enough and must be more accommodative in its conduct of monetary policy.

The six proposals that will be discussed by the Subcommittee on Tuesday are:

·         H.R. 245, introduced by Rep. Mike Pence

·         H.R. 1094, the Federal Reserve Board Abolition Act, introduced by Rep. Paul

·         H.R. 1401, the Democratizing the Federal Reserve System Act, introduced by Rep. Marcy Kaptur

·         H.R. 2990, the National Emergency Employment Defense Act, introduced by Rep. Dennis Kucinich

·         H.R. 3428, introduced by Rep. Barney Frank

·         H.R. 4180, the Sound Dollar Act, introduced by Rep. Kevin Brady

The Subcommittee’s hearing was held Tuesday, May 8 at 10 a.m. in room 2128 Rayburn House Office Building.

Yet another House member calls for Holder's resignation

This week, Representative Ben Quayle (R-AZ) became the 57th member of Congress to call for the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder over the Fast and Furious scandal. In a statement, Rep. Quayle said:

"Fast and Furious was a fundamentally flawed operation. Since its implementation, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry and numerous Mexican citizens have been killed by criminals using weapons that were allowed to ‘walk’ during the program. These weapons continue to pose a grave threat to people living near the Southern border. These facts alone signify a lack of leadership and control within the Justice Department that warrant the removal of those people who authorized and failed to supervise this damaging operation.

“When the incredible failures of Fast and Furious came to light, Attorney General Holder and his subordinates chose the route of evasion over forthrightness. They provided documents to Congress only when compelled to produce them with subpoena. These documents revealed that on February 4, 2011, senior officials at the Justice Department, the ATF and the Arizona U.S. Attorney’s Office responded to an inquiry by Senator Charles Grassley with a letter that contained categorically false information. Ten months later, the Justice Department was forced to rescind that letter—a move the attorney general acknowledged is extremely rare. During last week’s testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, the attorney general refused to take responsibility or hold any of his subordinates accountable for their handling of Fast and Furious. Mr. Holder himself called the operation ‘wholly unacceptable’ and ‘fundamentally flawed.’

“The fact that he hasn’t fired a single person shows that Attorney General Holder is more concerned with protecting himself and his political appointees than holding individuals accountable for Fast and Furious. I have refrained from calling for his resignation until he had a chance to testify before the Judiciary Committee. Asking for a cabinet member to resign is a serious step and one I take very seriously. After reflecting on last week’s testimony, the operation, and Mr. Holder’s handling of the fallout, I have lost all confidence in his ability to lead the Justice Department. I call for his immediate resignation.”
