Any more irony and Justin Ruben will suffer liver failure

MoveOn.org sent a professional e-mail to their list Sunday morning instructing liberals on how to blame the Tea Party for the downgrade.   No actual facts, statistics or numbers were provided, just a link to a snarky graphic.

They then got back to claiming the Tea Party should be dismissed because it's a well-funded centralized organization comprised of people who just repeat talking points that were sent to them from a main office.

Democrats cheer London riots and arson, call for U.S. violence

At its heart liberalism is a virulently hate-filled cult that believes mayhem and violence are perfectly acceptable forms of "social justice."

Let Democrats explain their violent tendencies and their steadfast belief arson and assault are useful tools of political expression in these posts from Democratic Underground.

London riots: Twitter users face arrest for inciting looters

GillesDeleuze: "Defenders of private property love to equate it [burning down your home] with human suffering      The tweets were about protest action. If it offends you as much as the police, id say you have some interesting allies."

saras: "Destroying property is often justified..."

Police Cars Attacked After Tottenham Shooting

LetTimmySmoke: "The brits put in austerity a year ago, and now they're seeing the effects."

With the unrest in London, is it time

socialist_n_TN: "With the unrest in London, is it time for the political wing to take advantage and call for a general strike and further political demonstrations? Although it looks like a lot of this is "criminality" (surface only analysis and only for some), there are political elements to it already. Sometimes it pays to take advantage of what you're given. "

readmoreoften: "The political alchemy is a revolutionary vanguard capable of organizing the strike.  There are certainly people already on the scene who are large enough to fulfill this function. The SWP, for one. Organizers and agitators with a unified plan will be what's needed soon. I suspect it'll take awhile."

nomb: "The local neighborhood leadership has almost entirely shifted the focus to criminal elements.      Reports are starting to build that Social Networking caused an almost "Warriors" movie type of gathering by usually antagonistic gangs from all over London to come and riot/loot.  I'm afraid this teaching moment is lost all ready."

Have you heard people you wouldn't expect talking about a revolution?

OffWithTheirHeads: "not yet, They are still too comfortable      I on the other hand, while still comfortable, would like to see some heads chopped off.

I guess its hard to get turnout numbers down in a bunker

Dems are claiming they lost in 2010 only because turnout was lower than usual, especially among Democrats.

That's a lie.

Not only was turnout 1.2% higher than the 2006 election they won, partisan identification was virtually identical.

They lost because they turned independents against them.

'Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.'

Democrats spent 2009 screaming Tea Partiers were "racist."

Democrat poll numbers dropped.  They lost governorships in New Jersey and Virginia, Barack Obama's own U.S. Senate seat and Ted Kennedy's U.S. Senate seat in indigo-blue Massachusetts.

Democrats spent 2010 screaming Tea Partiers were "presidential assassins."

Democrat poll numbers dropped even lower. They lost six governors, a record 680 state legislative seats, six U.S. Senate seats and 63 U.S. House seats, the biggest midterm House loss in 72 years.

Democrats are now spending 2011 screaming Tea Partiers are "terrorists."

Where do I donate to keep this up?

Major League Soccer. Minor League Officiating.

I'm usually very deferential to game officials.  I understand judgment calls and even will accept sometimes an obvious call is blown because the official simply had a bad visual angle.

But there is no excuse for Jasen Anno's utter incompetence and failure to control a match.  This wasn't an honest mistake or his having to make a judgment call in the rush of a match.  This is was just a total lack of awareness.

"China says debt financing unlikely 'to save' US, EU"

You know things are bad when Chinese Communists understand our economy better than the President does.
"The only way the Americans have come up with to improve economic growth has been to take on new loans to repay the old ones," a blistering commentary published on the official Xinhua news agency said.
"To eat May's grain in April, however, will never be a permanent solution to a problem," the report said.

Nate Silver is usually spot-on, but even he's falling into liberal panic

RT @fivethirtyeight I don't really buy that the stock market crash is bad news for Obama. Economic fundamentals are bad news for him. Stock market is trivial.

Millions of middle class voters watching their retirement security blow away, like teachers, fire fighters and police officers, disagree.

Democrat hysteria takes wing

Democrats double down on crazy, blaming the GOP for failure to pass FAA authorization and calling Republican "hostage takers" 12 times in reference to a bill on air travel.

They failed to mention they killed the bill.  They also seem to forget they've been screaming "HOSTAGE TAKERS!" on nearly every issue, only to be met with declining support.

"Hostage takers" is this year's "town hall violence" and "Tea Party racism," a delusional figment of fraying liberal imaginations.

This is why you should never assume the media are telling the truth

TV reporter interviews a four-year-old boy about a shooting in the neighborhood.  When asked if he was afraid he said no because he would have a gun, as he wants to be a police officer when he grows up.

The TV station cut off the last part of that sentence and kicked off the segment by reporting the "disturbing" reaction to the shooting.

The media are notoriously biased, but there is nothing worse than local reporters.

Revoke his Texas citizenship and deport him to Massachusetts.

Some guy texting in a Texas movie theater calls police and has a woman cited for assault after she taps him on the shoulder and asks him to stop.

He's just lucky it wasn't this lady.

Miss you, Governor.

We don't need John Boehner. We need Tony Horton.

Your doctor tells you that you are morbidly obese and gaining weight rapidly.  You must lose weight or you will die.

You tell him you're planning to lose two percent of your still-increasing weight, but no promises.

Problem solved?  Congress seems to think so.

"Yes, Prime Minister" dares to suggest innovation in government-monopolized education

Hate speech!

Ezra Klein manages to get even dumber

Ezra Klein is literally too stupid to write for any paper.

In today's Washington Post he says Obama can solve our debt problem by ordering the government to mint two $1 trillion coins and use those to pay the debt.

Yeah, that worked out great for Zimbabwe.

This is the same guy who said tax funds for Planned Parenthood were a sound investment because PP focuses most of its abortions on inner-city blacks, who consume a lot of government services.

I like a liberal columnist who can write, like Molly Ivins or Nat Hentoff, but Klein isn't just liberal, he's an idiot.

The dream team?

So the Democrats' leading voices on the debt issue are a man who thinks "cowboy poetry" is a wise use of tax funds, a woman who flat-out stated life on the planet would cease to exist if the bill passes, a woman who claims the GOP has a secret plan to kill all the nation's women and a man who has no plan of his own despite the fact he's the president.

They're doomed.

Hospital worker admits stealing $1.2M in toner

A former New York City hospital worker has admitted embezzling $1.2 million from the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center by ordering printer toner, stealing it and then reselling it...

...Prosecutors say Gumbs gradually ordered unneeded printer toner on the hospital's tab. Authorities say he had delivery drivers meet him and give him the supplies on the street, then resold them and pocketed the cash.
The thefts took place over three years.  That means he was making an average of $400,000.00 a year selling toner while still working a full-time job.

I'm in the wrong business.

Milwaukee JS: Wisconsin soldier invents device to foil bombs

The Taliban will use just about anything to hide bombs, and a perfect spot is a culvert underneath a road.

Now many of the culverts near this base in Kandahar province are no longer prime bomb-hiding locations, thanks to the ingenuity of a Wisconsin soldier.

Cpl. Eric DeHart, 38, of Birnamwood worked as a senior designer for Wausau Homes before deciding to join the Army for the first time at the age of 36, losing 80 pounds in six months to enlist. When his Army Reserves unit - Wausau-based 428th Engineer Co. - arrived in southern Afghanistan last fall, his platoon leader asked him to solve the culvert problem...

First Obama threatened to cut off soldiers' paychecks if Planned Parenthood's tax funding was touched.  Now he's threatening to cut off Social Security checks to the vulnerable elderly if he doesn't get his debt limit hike.  Perhaps those White House accusations of "hostage taking" were acts of projection?

BREAKING: House cuts off funds to enforce national light bulb ban

In a late-breaking development the House just minutes ago approved a measure cutting off funds to enforce the national light bulb ban that goes into effect next year.

I have been busy monitoring the situation on the House floor as ATP members pressed their congressmen to vote for the bill.

"The House on Friday voted to withhold funding to enforce part of a 2007 law that increases efficiency standards for light bulbs," The New York Times reports just minutes ago.

This is not a final victory on this issue.  Only the funds have been cut off and the measure still must be approved by the Senate.  The law creating a virtual ban on incandescent bulbs still exists.

But it's a start.

Thank you for all who called all this week and donated.  This amendment was approved by a voice vote.  Opponents of consumer choice did not want their constituents to know of theri radical position on this issue, so Congressman Joe Barton's bill on Tuesday exposed them by forcing them to take a recorded vote.

You made this victory possible.

But the fight is just starting.  We must get this through the Senate, where unlike the House opponents of consumer freedom control the chamber.

We must fight just to get a vote on this.  And then we must fight again to get the 2007 law repealed entirely.

So please take a moment to go here and chip in $10, $25, $50, $100 or even $500 to help win ATP's fight to repeal the light bulb ban.
Sincerely,

Donald Ferguson
Executive Director
American Tradition Partnership

Go here to chip in $10, or whatever you wish, to help me cut off funds to, and entirely repeal, the freedom-killing light bulb ban.

Ferguson takes Schweitzer to task for release misrepresentation

Ferguson takes Schweitzer to task for release misrepresentation
‘That two-dollar calculator isn’t much help when it’s operated by a ten-cent brain’

BOZEMAN – American Tradition Partnership Executive Director Donald Ferguson released the following statement Wednesday as Gov. Brian Schweitzer continues to misrepresent the size of the Laurel oil release:

“Gov. Schweitzer keeps claiming his ‘two dollar’ calculator tells him the 750 to 1000 barrel figure I got from the EPA is wrong.  For some childlike reason, he believes the oil left in the pipe continued to flow at its regular rate before it magically stopped.

“Any who’s ever used a water hose knows once you shut off the water, what’s left in the length of the hose will slowly trickle out.  Gov. Schweitzer is either lying or incompetent. Neither is representative of the people of Montana.  They deserve better than his continually insulting performance.

“That two-dollar calculator isn’t much help when it’s operated by a ten-cent brain.  We have enough of those in D.C.

“It’s no coincidence Gov. Schweitzer’s buffoonish antics come after a new poll shows him defeating Sen. Max Baucus in a Democrat senate primary with the support of radical green groups.  Gov. Schweitzer continues to frighten residents and smear Billings-area employers during a tough economy just to better position himself for a new job in Washington.

“Equally buffoonish was the staged ‘protest’ in his office intended to make him look pro-employer.  Montanans know his senior adviser and political manager is the son of EarthJustice senior officials and has groups like that on virtual speed dial.”

Obama's new civility?

Just months after Obama promised "civility" and a "new tone" in the wake of the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords, White House and their allies claim Republicans are “putting a gun against the heads of the American people" and want to "blow your brains out.”

More proof liberals define "civility" the same way the Soviets defined "peace" - the absence of any opposition to them.

Ban forces consumers to buy from politically-connected ‘green’ speculators
Mercury in ‘green’ bulbs linked to birth defects
‘Green’ bulbs result in increased energy consumption

WASHINGTON – American Tradition Partnership Executive Director Donald Ferguson sharply criticized the 193 U.S. House members who voted Tuesday against repealing an impending national ban on incandescent light bulbs.  While a majority of members voted for repeal the bill was to be brought to the House floor under a suspension of the rules requiring a two-thirds majority to pass.  The motion failed on a 233-193 vote.

Sponsored by Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas) H.R. 2417, the Better Use of Light Bulbs Act, repeals language in a 2007 bill the effectively bans the production of incandescent light bulbs starting in 2012.

“Monday’s vote by a radical minority of House members to block repeal of a national ban on light bulbs was an attack on jobs, family budgets and consumer freedom,” said Ferguson.  “You voted to punish your own constituents to fill the pockets of the ‘green’ speculators who fund many of your campaigns.”

“The light bulb ban fills homes with toxic mercury linked to birth defects, forces working families to spend more on bulbs and increases electricity consumption.  It successfully fulfills the environmentalist agenda of punishing Americans with higher prices for energy,” said Ferguson.

“If you are a House member who voted to ban light bulbs Monday, American Tradition Partnership’ large and growing grassroots support will hold you accountable,” said Ferguson.

A list of House members voting against repeal will be found at www.AmericanTradition.org.

“I want to personally thank Congressman Barton for sponsoring this bill to protect consumers and the public health,” said Ferguson.
Mercury, or-called “compact fluorescent,” bulbs consume more, not less, energy.  Research from the International Association for Energy-Efficient Lighting finds assembly of an incandescent bulb consumes 0.11 Kwh, but assembly of a mercury bulb consumes 16 times more energy, 1.8 Kwh.

Mercury bulbs also burn out quickly, often quicker than incandescent bulbs, if turned on or off.  Consumers must leave their lights on at all times to preserve the bulbs in order to avoid having to constantly buy expensive replacement bulbs.  Many mercury bulb users do this anyway, rationalizing they can afford to leave the lights on at all times assuming they are using less power.

The net result is increased energy use, the opposite of what mercury bulb advocates claim.

ATP does not advocate the election or defeat of candidates.  Powered by grassroots members, ATP is a fast-growing non-profit citizens’ group dedicated to promoting rational, responsible energy and environmental policies.
